Stage small cottage

What We Did

An older, cute and compact cottage with 2 bedrooms and a combined kitchen-living area which had been renovated. It had a very large back garden which down the line will have a large new house built on it. The front door opens into a passage and the bedrooms lead off on either side. You look immediately into the kitchen-living area from the front door and the first thing you see is the kitchen cupboard and sink. To overcome this, I placed a perfectly-scaled round glass dining table with four ghost chairs. This did not take up much visual space which was important in this small space. The lounge seating was all to scale so as not to overcrowd the room. The two occasional chairs were low-backed, which showed there was enough seating and did not look too full. And there was enough room for a ghost coffee table, ideal in a small space.

Today’s buyers are well-informed and have high expectations. They make a decision in the first few seconds of entering your property. They are ready to move on to the next one on their list if yours is just not up to scratch, or doesn’t look well-maintained, or has too many distractions, like clutter or overpowering wall colours or art.
